NORTHERN TRUST & FELLOWS HOMES TO DELIVER 2ND NEW HOUSING DEVELOPMENT

12th April 2013

Northern Trust has again joined forces with local house builder, Fellows Homes to provide a second new housing development in Chorley. The new development is located at Duke Street, and follows on from the success of The Village Garden new housing scheme at Quarry Road, where the final phase of development is nearing completion.

Mike Grindrod, Director at Northern Trust commented “Northern Trust has worked closely with Chorley Borough Council on the regeneration plans for the Duke Street site; and we are pleased to be working with Fellows Homes again, in bringing this important new housing scheme to fruition.”

Following the successful detailed planning application, work on the first phase of the development is expected to commence later in the year. Fellows Homes will be undertaking the construction work on the site and when completed, the development will provide 70 new homes in a range of 2 and 3 bedroom terraced, semi-detached and detached family house types. A proportion of affordable housing is also included and incorporates a range of 1 and 2 bed apartments.

The plans also include a contribution on improvements to playing fields within Chorley, and enhancements to the play space facilities on Rangletts recreation ground opposite the site. In addition there will also be upgrades to the bus stop on nearby Pall Mall.

Dave Fellows of Fellows Homes added “We are delighted to be involved in another joint venture with Northern Trust and are looking forward to progressing this new housing development.”

Fellows Homes have been constructing bespoke design and build houses for over 30 years bringing customers aspirations to life. More recently the company has brought that expertise and know how the family homes market with The Village Garden development.

The Duke Street site is situated in an excellent location close to the Town Centre and local amenities. Chorley benefits from good communication links with Junction 8 of the M61 close by stopmha.org.
